Prigozhin Claims Having Taken Control Of Rostov Military Facilities And Airfield

The head of the Wagner PMC is waiting for the surrender of Shoigu and Gerasimov to him.

A Telegram channel associated with Yevgeny Prigozhin published a video in which, as the caption to it says, the head of the Wagner PMC is “negotiating” with Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff Vladimir Alekseev, ВВС reports.

Prigozhin informs Yevkurov that the Wagnerites shot down a third helicopter and “will shoot down everything if they are sent.” Yevkurov sighs at these words. After that, the Deputy Minister of Defense pronounces the beginning of a phrase that is difficult to make out. It ends with the words “let's figure out what to do”.

In response, Prigozhin states that the PMC came to Rostov to “get the Chief of the General Staff and Shoigu”. “Until they are here, we block the city of Rostov and go to Moscow,” says Prigozhin. Yevkurov in response asks to “let the guys out”, but the head of the “Wagner” refuses.

Shortly thereafter, Prigozhin posted another video in which he says that he is “at the headquarters” and that it is 7:30 in the morning. Under the control of the PMC, according to him, are the military facilities of Rostov, including the airfield.
