The airport is on fire, the sky is closed over Vnukovo because of the drone attack.
Explosions, followed by a massive fire, took place at Moscow's Domodedovo airport during the night of August 10, Ukrainian media reported.
According to the Astra telegram channel, with reference to the words of eyewitnesses, at about three o'clock in the morning there were explosions in Domodedovo, after which a fire broke out.
"A large fire in Moscow region Domodedovo. A car service station is burning on an area of 1,000 "squares". As we are informed by local residents, gas cylinders exploded. At the moment the emergency services are engaged in extinguishing the fire," reports the Shot Telegram-channel.
Locals claimed to have heard two explosions near Domodedovo airport during the night, as well as sounds similar to the work of air defence systems.
"Yes, I saw it explode!" one of the channels quoted a Russian woman as saying.
Russian propagandist Vladislav Pozdnyakov wrote that Domodedovo was allegedly attacked by Ukrainian drones. But there is another version: a fire in an industrial zone.
"Yes, it is a UAV. Since eyewitnesses had heard the work of air defence systems before. According to another version, the fire in the industrial zone, and explosions from gas cylinders," he wrote.
Moscow's Vnukovo airport is also closed. A Russian reported that planes have not been allowed to land since 1:30.
The same Russian claims that planes are either making circles in the sky over Ryazan or have been diverted to Sheremetyevo and St Petersburg.
The Russian resident concluded to himself that drones are most likely flying towards Moscow.
Later his words were indirectly confirmed by eyewitnesses to the explosions near Domodedovo airport. They heard two loud "bangs", after which the fire started in the area of the industrial zone.
A number of Russian media suggested that it was an air defence system that had hit the drones flying towards Moscow. However, later it was reported that the explosion was allegedly caused not by drones, but by a "gas cylinder" on the territory of one of the car service stations located in the immediate vicinity of Domodedovo.
Meanwhile, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the Russian capital was attacked by drones.
According to him, at around four in the morning, the air defence allegedly "shot down two drones" that were moving in the direction of Moscow.
According to Sobyanin, one drone was allegedly "destroyed" in Kaluga Region and the other near the Central Ring Road.
