Two Polish Soldiers Wounded At Belarusian Border

These are gunshot wounds.

Polish soldiers received gunshot wounds near the border with Belarus.

According to the Operational Command of the Polish Army, the incident occurred near Nowa Luka in Podlaskie Voivodeship.

Both servicemen were involved in the ‘Safe Podlasie’ operation to strengthen the protection of the border with Belarus.

They were injured in an accident.

During the changing of the guard, two uncontrolled shots occurred. As a result, a soldier of the 1st Tank Battalion of the 18th Mechanised Division was wounded in the leg. A fellow soldier was wounded in the thumb of his palm.

The military gendarmerie is establishing the circumstances and causes of the incident.
