On the night of January 11, powerful explosions shook the Russian regions. Local residents and propagandists report numerous “bangs” and drone attacks, footage from the scene is spreading online, writes Glavred.

Voronezh and Anapa heard strong explosions

In the Voronezh region, the governor announced the successful operation of the air defense, but residents repeatedly heard explosions.

Similar reports are coming from the Krasnodar Territory, where in Anapa the sirens were turned on after the explosions.

There is also information about hits in the area of Utrish and Varvarovka near the Turkish Stream.

Novorossiysk — fire in the port

It was especially noisy in Novorossiysk, where a large-scale fire started as a result of explosions in the port.

Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, confirmed numerous strikes on the port infrastructure.

“Many hits on the port of Novorossiysk,” Andriy Kovalenko wrote on social media.

Footage of the aftermath has appeared online.

Kotovsk — drones fell on houses

Two five-story residential buildings were damaged in the city of Kotovsk in the Tambov region. Five people were injured, windows were knocked out, and the buildings were significantly damaged.

Russia reports air defense “successes” — airports are closed

The Russian Defense Ministry reports the “interception” of 85 drones overnight, of which:

31 over the Black Sea,

16 in the Voronezh region and Krasnodar Territory,

14 over the Sea of Azov,

the rest — in the Belgorod, Tambov, Kursk regions and Crimea.

Despite these statements, the scale of destruction and the number of incidents cast doubt on the effectiveness of air defense.

Moreover, a “Carpet” regime has been introduced at Russian airports due to the threat of unknown drones. Airplanes are not being received or sent at the airports of Kazan, Nizhnekamsk and Ulyanovsk.
