Sales Of Belarusian Buses Fall Sharply In Russia

At the end of 2024, sales of buses of Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) in Russia decreased by 45.5%, despite the overall market growth of 15%.

The sales leaders are now Russian enterprises, which have significantly increased production volumes. This was reported in the ASM-Holding company.

In 2024, MAZ sold 504 buses in Russia, while in 2023 - 925.

In 2023, the Belarusian company was in the top 4 in the Russian market, but now it has fallen to the 9th place.

The total market volume in 2024 was 19.7 thousand new buses, 2.7 thousand more than in 2023.

The top 5 sales include PAZ (Russia), LIAZ (Russia), YUTONG (China), NEFAZ (Russia), Volzhanin (Russia).

Sales of some Russian plants increased by 26-63%.

Sales of MAZ trucks in Russia also declined: 5,719 trucks were sold in 2024, which is 10.7% less than in 2023.

However, this is in line with the overall market decline: sales of new trucks in Russia fell by 12% in 2024.

In 2023, MAZ claimed record bus production volumes. A new bus plant is likely to be launched in the near future, which was supposed to start operations at the end of 2024.
