Three Scenarios For Deployment Of British Troops In Ukraine Published

One of them is “nuclear”.
London and Paris are discussing the hypothetical sending of their peacekeeping forces to the territory of Ukraine after the ceasefire, writes The Telegraph.
The peacekeeping mission should become a guarantor of security and peace if Ukraine and the Russian Federation agree to end hostilities. Discussion of this idea is becoming increasingly relevant against the backdrop of talks between political leaders of different countries about a ceasefire and peace talks in Ukraine.
According to this publication, negotiations on sending troops to Ukraine have already been held at meetings between British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron.
According to the idea of the initiators, the peacekeepers will serve in a buffer zone created along the demarcation line between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Russian Federation, preventing further hypothetical escalations.
At the same time, a number of problematic issues arise, including risks for the peacekeeping contingent.
At the moment, there are 3 possible scenarios for the deployment of the peacekeeping contingent.
1st. Deployment of British troops along the demarcation line between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. British troops will patrol the territory using aircraft and armored vehicles. In addition, rapid reaction forces will be deployed in the rear to neutralize possible threats.
2nd. Creation of a defensive cordon around Kyiv. This is an unlikely scenario, it is called “nuclear” because it involves large-scale involvement of troops, and not only British ones.
3rd. This option involves transferring the British training program for Ukrainian soldiers to the territory of Ukraine. The transfer of the mission, according to the idea of the initiators, would reduce logistical costs and speed up training. By the way, France, Poland and other EU countries can also be involved in the mission (joint work to control the buffer zone, air defense, training of Ukrainian troops).
While officials in London and Paris are keeping details of the talks under wraps, one thing is clear: discussions of an international peacekeeping mission in Ukraine are becoming increasingly urgent given the prospect of a ceasefire.
