This could be a provocation.

In November last year, the case of Maksim Viktaravich Palonski was heard in the Maskouski District Court of Minsk.

The man was accused of theft (Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus) and insulting Lukashenka (Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus), writes the Telegram channel “Vitsebsk, I’m walking!”.

The publication draws attention to the fact that the personal data of the accused completely coincides with the data of a previously convicted informant who worked undercover in the special institution “Lariskor”, known as a front for informants.

On January 31, 2025, the Minsk City Court will consider Palonski’s appeal.

If we assume that the accused is indeed the informant, then the political charge could have been brought specifically so that he could gain the trust of political prisoners.
