They openly expressed their position.

The United States of America, Hungary, Slovakia and Germany opposed Ukraine's accession to NATO.

As reported by the unian.net correspondent, this was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during statements for the media with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer . The Ukrainian leader also noted that this information is no longer a secret:

"The United States, Hungary, Slovakia and Germany — they were sincere, they did not want to see us in NATO. This is an open conversation. It seems to me that there are no secrets here, that these are four countries that, for various reasons, have not get the image of Ukraine in NATO."

Recall that during the NATO summit in 2023, NATO member states lifted the requirement for Ukraine to have a membership action plan, but did not issue an invitation.
