23 Political Prisoners Released

A total of 23 people convicted of “extremist crimes” have been released on pardon. Lukashenka signed the corresponding decree on January 18, Zerkalo reports.

The names of those released are not disclosed. Among them are three women and 20 men. 13 people are over 50 years old, 14 have chronic diseases, 12 have children, including one father of many children.

At the same time, trials on politically motivated articles continue in Belarus, and people continue to be sent to colonies and prisons.
