Russian Naval Vessels 'Looping' Around Syrian Coast For Two Weeks

Syria has begun allowing civilian commercial vessels into the port of Tartus, while Russian military ships remain banned.

The Crimean Wind ("Krymski Veter") monitoring group reported on Sunday, January 19.

According to analysts, the Egyptian dry cargo ship Lotus entered the port of Tartus at night.

“At the same time, the Russian military transports Sparta and Sparta II continue to circle in neutral waters nearby – for two weeks now. They drew interesting figures in the tracking service, but they are not allowed into the port of Tartus to remove Russian military equipment,” the group.
