There are no such systems in the country yet.
Ukraine is developing its own air defence and missile defence system that will be able to intercept Russian Oreshnik ballistic missiles. This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Oleksandr Syrsky.
According to the Commander-in-Chief, the Oreshnik ballistic missile, which Putin has been hyping up, is a threat to Ukraine and currently only a few air defence systems can shoot it down. He said that there are no such systems in the country yet, “but we must do everything to ensure that they appear.”
“This prompts us to create our own air defence system, which would not just be an air defence system, but an anti-missile system. This prompts us to actively negotiate with our allies to obtain such a system. And, of course, this should encourage us to create a modern missile system that could be a deterrent against the use of such weapons by the Russians," Syrsky said in an interview with TSN.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added that work is currently underway to create such effective anti-missile systems in Ukraine. He also expressed hope that "we will soon get the desired result for us."
