Putin will face public humiliation, even in case of negotiations.
Within his first week in office, Donald Trump made several key statements, including criticisms of Russia. So the head of the White House is trying to undermine the authority of the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin within the country.
In an interview with UNIAN, managing partner of the National Anti-Crisis Group Taras Zahorodnyi told about this.
"Trump is an experienced negotiator, and he understands that if you want to negotiate with someone, you do not talk to him in the style of"I am the boss, you are a fool", and do not blackmail. I believe that this is largely a message to the Russian elites, which is that, they say, remove this crazy person, and we will talk," he said.
Zahorodnyi stressed that Trump understands that Putin's demands are unrealistic for the West. Therefore, he puts pressure on the head of the Kremlin in the public space.
“Can Trump giveZaporizhzhia or the Donetsk region to him, dismantle NATO's military infrastructure in Europe, lift sanctions against Russia? This is absolute nonsense. Therefore, he presses in such a public way for Putin to come to his senses. In addition, this undermines Putin's position within the country. There, patriots are already whining that Putin has brought the country to such a state that Americans are talking to them in an ultimatum tone," explained the managing partner of the National Anti-Crisis Group.
According to Zahorodnyi, Putin will be publicly humiliated in any case, even if he goes to negotiations.
"And this undermines, first of all, Putin's power. In fact, it's very good that Trump started talking to him like that. This suggests that the 'Assad Scenario' in Russia is becoming more and more real," he concluded.
