The largest increase is observed in financial and insurance activities.

According to the Lithuanian Employment Service, the number of Belarusians who arrived and were employed has increased to 46.6 thousand people since 2022, Delfi writes.

This is the largest group of foreign workers in the country. Ukrainians are in second place, with just over 46 thousand in the Lithuanian economy.

According to the Deputy Director of the Employment Service, Giedre Sinkevičič, the number of Belarusian workers in Lithuania has increased by 33.6 thousand people since 2022.

It is noted that the largest number of Belarusian citizens work in the transport and logistics industry (33.1 thousand) and in construction (5.6 thousand).

The greatest growth is observed in financial and insurance activities: at the beginning of 2022, there were seven Belarusians working there, now — 114. The same trend is in the IT industry — growth from 631 to 3.5 thousand.

There are almost three times more Belarusian citizens working in the manufacturing industry than in 2022 — 1.3 thousand people; in the field of repair of vehicles and motorcycles — four times (over 1 thousand); in administrative and service activities — eight times more (541); in the field of accommodation and catering services — seven times more (473).

It is specified that in Lithuania, Belarusians mainly occupy mid-skilled jobs (40.9 thousand). Now one and a half times more people are employed in such positions than as of January 1, 2022.

“The number of Belarusians employed in highly skilled jobs has increased more than fivefold — now there are 5.2 thousand, while in 2022 it did not even reach a thousand (895),” Sinkevičič noted.
