Cheapest Munition In World: Ukraine Preparing To Hit Moscow With Its Own Missiles

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have thousands of ‘Trembitas’ flying beyond ATACMS.

Ukraine is rushing to provide itself with its own weapons, and one of the most promising is the ‘Trembita’ missile, which will be able to fly as far as Moscow and at the same time be the cheapest deep strike munition in the world. The Telegraph writes about it.

Journalists note that at a cost of about 10 thousand dollars per unit, ‘Trembita’ is capable of carrying 18 kilograms of explosives at a distance of up to 144 kilometres. Measuring about two metres long and weighing 90 kilograms, the Trembita is launched from a ramp. It has a simple pulse jet engine, a tubular fuselage and a square wing.

At the same time, the developer of this rocket is now working on a more powerful version, capable of travelling 650 kilometres and reaching Moscow.

This version, which should be ready in about a year, will undoubtedly cost more than $10,000, but will still be potentially the cheapest deep strike munition in the world, the material notes.

For comparison, the authors of the material cited the ATACMS missile, which flies a maximum of 300 kilometres, but costs more than $1 million.

‘The new Ukrainian Trembita cruise missile may become the biggest symbol of its aspiration for autonomous firepower. As it is awaiting the day when it runs out of U.S. munitions, Ukraine is preparing to build the Trembita and other long-range, deep-defence munitions. There are plenty of them,’ the article said.

The journalists also noted that Ukraine can supply thousands of Trembitas for arming even without external budgetary assistance.
