Despite Hamas' brutal behaviour during the exchange procedure.

On Thursday, 30 January, Israel announced that it had released 110 Palestinian prisoners. This happened as part of the ceasefire and hostage release agreement with Hamas.

This is reported by CNN..

The Israel Prison Service said in a statement that all 110 prisoners were ‘transferred from several detention centres around the country to Ofer and Ketsiot prisons’ before being released.

In turn, eight hostages taken by Hamas and other armed groups in the 7 October 2023 attacks were also released on Thursday in Gaza. Three Israelis and five Thai nationals were among them.

We remind you that earlier in the day, on 30 January, Israel suspended the release of Palestinian prisoners. The decisions were taken in connection with the chaos during the transfer of Israeli hostages to the Red Cross.

In particular, during the process, a crowd in Gaza surrounded the hostages who were being escorted to the buses of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Furthermore, Palestinians jostled the ICRC buses.

‘This is yet another proof of the incomprehensible brutality of the Hamas terrorist organisation,’ commented Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
