‘It's Buzzing, They Hit It’: Panic Over Striking Refinery Starts In Engels

Today, 8 January, at around 3:00, a group of attack drones paid a courtesy visit to Engels in Saratov region, where there is not only a military airfield, but also an oil refinery.

Local public pages write that they counted at least five drones in the sky, and in the area of the oil depot - up to 40 explosions.

More than one photo and video from the scene can be seen on the Net. Bright flames of fire have covered the territory of the oil refinery, writes ‘Dialogue.UA’.

In October 2024, drones have already attacked the refinery in Engels. This oil refinery usually stores fuel for aircraft based at the military airbase. It is possible that this is the Saratov refinery, which is one of the oldest refineries in the Russian Federation, founded back in 1934. It is located right on the banks of the Volga River.
