Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk Is Free!

A well-known political prisoner has been released from prison.

As Charter97.org learned, this morning Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk, an activist of the European Belarus Civil Campaign, was released from the repeat offenders prison colony #24 in Zarechcha.

Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk was detained on January 3, 2021. On June 9, 2021, the Moscow District Court of Brest sentenced her to two years in prison, after which her term was extended several times.

Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk served four terms in prison: the mother of two children, her prison term was extended three times after the first sentence was served. Palina was in complete isolation almost all the time behind bars. Her health deteriorated significantly in the prison.
